Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Texas seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count, oversee non-traditional shifts, and ensure safe and timely movement of freight with best-in-class customer service.

The role will train to ensure DOT compliance and manage drivers in collaboration with internal and external contacts. You will rotate through payroll, budgeting, planning, and reporting while coordinating with customers and maintenance to optimize fleet operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain or related field, or 1 year management/transportation experience with a GED.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company events when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignments.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Learn to train drivers and staff and assist with customer systems.
• Develop reporting and financial analysis for customer needs and profitability.
• Manage yard operations and coordinate with maintenance for equipment upkeep.
• Assist with payroll, budgets, and chargebacks while ensuring DOT compliance.
• Coordinate load planning, routing, and on-time freight movement with customers.
