Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. seeks a Manager Trainee to learn and manage a small driver count, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, timely freight movement and excellent customer service.

You will be trained for DOT compliance and overall fleet planning with internal/external contacts. The starting pay is $50,700–$63,400 per year. Onsite location is 600 Richards Run, Burlington, NJ; remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, transportation/logistics, or related field or HS diploma with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and event locations.
• Ability to work across nights and weekends if needed.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless operations.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special fleet projects.
• Train and orient drivers and staff and assist with internal and client systems.
• Maximize efficiency, monitor KPIs, and prepare customer reports.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Assist payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting tasks.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive services and safety issues.
• Resolve service, routing, and on-road issues with drivers and customers.
• Maintain safety culture and DOT compliance across activities.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight to meet schedules.
