Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Salina, KS is seeking a part-time Dispatch Support associate responsible for coordinating quality, service and admin tasks in pickup and delivery, and dispatching transportation equipment per the Linehaul plan to minimize costs and maintain service integrity.

You will monitor metrics, communicate with Independent Contractors and service providers, resolve customer service issues, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

• Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and transportation regulations used in Pickup and Delivery and Linehaul field operations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors facility metrics related to service, safety, cost and quality on a daily basis.
• Investigates potential performance issues and addresses with BC/AOs.
• Reviews inaccuracies in generated reports with appropriate parties to include administrative staff and BC/AOs.
• Ensures errors are corrected in appropriate systems and verifies accuracy of metrics reported.
• Communicates with BC/AOs of ICs, ISPs and temporary employees regarding load plan changes and implements these changes in Vision/VRP.
• Investigates customer service complaints to include disputed deliveries, missing packages, etc., and communicates resolutions to ensure satisfaction.
• Escalates unresolved issues with BC/AOs to appropriate management.
• Maintains and updates vehicle maintenance information and ensures DOT compliance.
• Coordinates dispatch of linehaul equipment and enters dispatch events into the system.
• Investigates and reports linehaul delays, accidents, and equipment failures and implements contingency plans.
• May perform driver release audits and organize driver training classes.
