Job summary

Staffmark Total Talent Solutions is hiring a Logistics Claims Specialist for a contract opportunity in Coppell, TX. This on-site role pays $36.00 per hour and runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with hours subject to change.

You will investigate OS&D, validate claims, audit POD/BOL, pursue deductions, and coordinate with carriers and 3PLs to recover funds while maintaining aging reports and reporting trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years of directly related experience.
• Proficiency in logistics and ERP systems including SAP.

Responsibilities

• Claims Investigation & Validation
• Investigate OS&D claims, shipment refusals, and carrier disputes.
• Audit POD, BOL, shipping documents, and inspection photos to verify the legitimacy of claims.
• Research deductions, customer disputes, and overpayments to determine whether credit is warranted or whether chargebacks/repay letters need to be issued.
• Carrier & 3PL Financial Recovery
• File and track freight claims with carriers, freight forwarders, and insurance underwriters.
• Negotiate settlements and recoveries according to carrier liability rules, contracts, and insurance coverage.
• Maintain and update claims aging reports to minimize outstanding balances.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Settlement
• Work closely with Warehouse Operations, Billing/Settlement, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to resolve operational discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Accounting and Finance teams to reconcile AR/AP impacts from deductions and settlements.
• Reporting & Root-Cause Analysis
• Track claim trends and metrics to identify systemic operational bottlenecks.
• Recommend process enhancements to mitigate recurring cargo damage or loss.

• Recommend packaging, handling, or routing process enhancements to mitigate recurring cargo damage or loss.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 6+ years of directly related experience is required.
• Proficiency in logistics and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Cello Logistics Platform, WMS/TMS).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data reconciliation).
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills for handling carrier and vendor disputes.
• High attention to detail and ability to interpret contracts and insurance guidelines.
• Good organizational skills.
