Job summary

Jobtailor in Oklahoma is seeking a detail-oriented inventory and logistics associate to receive, inspect, and record incoming hardware, prepare shipments, and maintain accurate records. You will support data center operations and collaborate with procurement and technical support to ensure smooth logistics.

You will work with forklifts and pallet jacks, perform stock counts, and help with safety protocols and packing tasks. Prior experience and certifications in logistics are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields (1 year).
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and basic office tools.
  • Ability to perform basic math and read safety/instructional documents.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory, including racks, trays, networking equipment, and other hardware
  • Maintain inventory records and documentation for received and shipped items
  • Perform stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments
  • Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging
  • Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments
  • Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment in accordance with safety procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas and shipping/receiving docks
  • Dispose of packaging materials and obsolete equipment as needed
  • Follow safety protocols, data center security measures, and access controls
  • Collaborate with data center operations, procurement, and technical support
  • Support special projects and other duties assigned by management
  • Set up and install computer server racks according to instructions, diagrams, and guidelines
  • Use basic tools and equipment safely for installation tasks
  • Support senior technicians with cable management and organization within server racks
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and software
  • Proficiency in basic office software, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations with and without a calculator
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents
  • Familiarity with proper lifting techniques
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is desirable
  • Ability to lift and move heavy material and perform physical tasks related to server trays and server racks
  • Ability to use power equipment to move very heavy server racks safely
  • Ability to carry objects 3–5 feet weighing up to 50 lbs routinely
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time over 4 hours
  • Ability to walk continuously for more than 10,000 steps (4–5 miles) per day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push, and pull objects of various shapes and sizes in team lifts
  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold work environments
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
  • May be required to pass a pre-employment drug test after receiving a conditional offer
