Job summary

Givens Packing & Crating in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Account Representative to join our logistics and warehousing team. You will be the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, coordinating shipments and providing proactive service throughout the order lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in clerical or account support, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience in logistics or warehousing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clerical, administrative, account support, or related experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Customer service experience; 3 years preferred.
• Logistics, transportation, warehousing, import/export, or supply chain experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
• Provide excellent customer service through regular phone and email communication.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with customers, warehouse operations, transportation providers, carriers, and port authorities.
• Process customer orders and provide daily customer activity, discrepancy, and project reports.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, receiving reports, job orders, and other customer-specific documentation.
• Assist with import and export shipments and communicate with customers throughout the shipment process.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, billing, and inventory records.
• Monitor shipments and resolve documentation or confirmation errors.
• Assist with inventory activities, including cycle count reports, relocations, and inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare customer invoicing and supporting documentation.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions, concerns, and service issues.
• Escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Learn and become proficient in the company’s warehouse management system.
