Job summary

Givens is seeking an Account Representative to join our Chesapeake team. You will act as the main liaison with customers, coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, and prepare documentation to ensure smooth operations across warehousing and transportation.

The role requires strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills, with experience in logistics or related fields. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position based in Chesapeake, VA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years clerical/account support experience; 3+ years preferred.
  • Customer service experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Logistics/warehousing or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of NAVIS port system is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Dependable with limited supervision.
  • Professional and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service through regular phone and email communication.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with customers, warehouse operations, transportation providers, carriers, and port authorities.
  • Process customer orders and provide daily customer activity, discrepancy, and project reports.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, receiving reports, job orders, and other customer-specific documentation.
  • Assist with import and export shipments and communicate with customers throughout the shipment process.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, billing, and inventory records.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve documentation or confirmation errors.
  • Assist with inventory activities, including cycle count reports, relocations, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare customer invoicing and supporting documentation.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions, concerns, and service issues.
  • Escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Learn and become proficient in the company's warehouse management system.

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are currently looking for an Account Representative to join our Chesapeake team. This position works directly with assigned customers and serves as a key link between the customer, warehouse operations, transportation providers, and other parties involved in their shipments.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service and administrative skills, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, import/export, or a similar industry is a plus.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
