Job summary

Givens Packing & Crating in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Account Representative to support logistics customer service. You will coordinate shipments, process orders, and maintain accurate records while communicating with customers, warehouse staff, and carriers.

The role requires at least 2 years in administration or customer service, familiarity with shipping documents and NAVIS, and strong computer skills. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of administrative, clerical, customer service, or account support experience.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with shipping documents, inventory records, or order processing is a plus.
• Familiarity with the NAVIS port system is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when entering information and preparing documentation.
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and follow through until they are resolved.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily communication with assigned customer accounts by phone and email.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with warehouse teams, carriers, and customers.
• Enter and process customer orders, shipping information, and related documentation.
• Prepare bills of lading, packing lists, receiving reports, and other shipping paperwork.
• Track shipments and follow up on delivery updates, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
• Maintain accurate customer, inventory, shipping, and billing records.
• Assist with import/export documentation and communication with port authorities when needed.
• Prepare customer invoices, daily activity reports, and supporting paperwork.
• Work with warehouse personnel to address inventory questions, cycle counts, and shipment discrepancies.
• Respond to customer requests and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner.
• Learn and use the company's warehouse management system.
• Assist with additional administrative and account-related tasks as needed.
