Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Dedicated Logistics Manager to own the account’s profitability through day-to-day operations, including driver management, load planning, and all customer service functions needed to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will supervise office personnel and drivers, drive safety and KPI performance, coordinate with billing, safety, payroll and maintenance, and strive for asset efficiency and on-site customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing, Management or Transportation/Logistics.
• 2–3 years customer service experience preferred.
• 2–3 years transportation experience preferred.
• 1–2 years AS/400 and PC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overall Account Management of profitability, revenue, invoicing, personnel management and direct/onsite customer interaction.
• Daily supervision of office personnel and drivers assigned to account.
• Continually focusing on driver training and driver retention.
• Responsible for account profitability and growth.
• Maximize asset utility with idle reduction and mpg improvement strategies.
• Assign drivers to loads using origination, destination, freight type, miles, backhauls, stops, etc.
• Promote safety and compliance with Federal, State and Werner policies.
• Interface with billing, safety, payroll, maintenance and external vendors.
• Monitor performance metrics and participate in customer meetings.
• Coordinate maintenance of assets and equipment for the account.
• Coordinate HR functions such as interviewing, hiring, discipline and separations.
