Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Locomotive Maintenance Materials/Technical Advisor (MTA) to support customer operations in the Field Services Americas team. The role requires partnering with customer management, suppliers, and internal experts to ensure locomotive parts, tooling, and processes meet safety and performance standards.

You will work 24/7 shifts, often 12 hours, in locomotives repair shops, providing hands-on guidance and leading initiatives that improve material availability and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 2-year degree with 2 years of work experience, or HS diploma with 4 years Operations or Military leadership.
• Willingness to work in shop environment and on various shifts, including auditing/training.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Validated analytical and quality improvement ability.
• Ability to interface at all levels of the organization.
• Reliability and predictable attendance.
• Ability to complete Wabtec Level 1 Technical Training within ~18 months from hire date.
• High dependability and teamwork.
• Successful completion of eRail Safe eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate in locomotive diesel repair shops on customer property.
• Provide customer-facing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and material support.
• Manage material orders across sites and monitor on-hand inventory.
• Coordinate with logistics and suppliers on critical needs and delivery dates.
• Resolve system errors and ensure correct order generation.
• Communicate status and collaborate across teams to improve processes.
• Support continuous improvement and ensure contract compliance.
• Provide technical mentorship to teams on tooling, safety, and procedures.
