Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Production Supervisor – Final Assembly, Locomotive, to lead a skilled team through final locomotive assembly. You will coach and develop staff, drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and remove roadblocks to keep production moving while upholding high standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership on the shop floor, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and accountability for readiness for inspections and shipment. A strong Lean/SAP background is highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years manufacturing leadership experience in complex, low-volume environments such as rail or heavy equipment.
Experience with rail industry and SAP/MRP/ERP systems.
Strong Lean manufacturing knowledge: 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Yamazumi, Lean Shop Floor Management.
Root cause analysis and continuous improvement-focused; experience implementing sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead daily production operations, set priorities, manage workflow, and coordinate production sequences to meet requirements.
Drive safety, quality, schedule, and labor performance to meet targets and commitments.
Build and manage a high-performing team through planning, hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
Maintain clear, consistent communication about production status, changes, and policies with the team.
Own final assembly readiness and quality for locomotives, addressing root causes and partnering with upstream teams for solutions.
