Job summary

J.P. Mascaro & Sons is seeking a Front Load Driver for the Wyoming Valley Division in Nanticoke, PA. Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy, servicing customers on assigned routes.

Qualifications

• Valid state commercial drivers license (CDL Class B or equivalent).
• Attention to detail to prevent damage to truck, equipment and surroundings.
• Ability to sit in the truck cab for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move 75-pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, get into and out of truck cab unassisted, and perform all required Vehicle Condition Report checks/inspections.
• Must meet DOT physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety sensitive employee subject to random screening.
• Ability to climb up on to roll off containers and trap them by hand; containers up to eight feet high.

Responsibilities

• Drives a truck according to established routes or municipal territories, servicing customers courteously and timely.
• Operates the truck following DOT regulations and safety rules; transports and dumps trash at transfer stations or landfills.
• Check in with dispatch to ensure all stops are picked up; obtain approval before returning to shop.
• Obtain load weight tickets and sign for load.
• Maintain required records such as driver logs, route sheets, and work orders.
• Clean truck cab and body daily; perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
