Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons, Wyoming Valley Division in Nanticoke, PA, seeks a Front Load Driver to operate a truck on subscription routes and municipal territories, ensuring safe and efficient waste collection. You will work with a route supervisor and crew to meet daily targets while adhering to DOT regulations.

The role requires a valid PA CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, DOT medical clearance, and the ability to pass substance abuse screening.

Qualifications

• Must have PA CDL Class B with air brake endorsement.
• Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements.
• Pass a substance abuse screening as safety-sensitive employee.

Responsibilities

• Operate a front load trash truck per DOT, company policy and routing sheets.
• Transport and dump municipal waste at transfer stations or landfills.
• Maintain driver logs, route sheets, work orders and related records.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Coordinate with Route Supervisor/Dispatch for route instructions and special orders.
• Keep the truck clean and free of trash after each route.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

If you have any of the following conditions or disabilities, we encourage you to reach out to the Human Resources Department to determine if this role is a fit for you.• Seizure disorder(s)• Certain Sleep Disorders, such as NarcolepsyContact the Human Resources Department if you wish to request an accommodation or further discuss the above restrictions.***What You Will Do:Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service on established subscription routes or municipal territories as listed on daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work ordersResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck, as well as the helpers assigned to the truckTransport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfillCoordinate regularly with the Route Supervisor, Dispatch or Operations Manager to ensure all stops are picked up, and to receive any special instructions as well as communicate any questions materials, overweight or oversized itemsObtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs, etc.Clean truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include cab, and ensuring that no trash remains in the truck after completion of the routePerform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition reportReport any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report (VCR) and report it immediately to the route supervisor or operations managerAs well as other duties as assignedWhat You Have:A valid PA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods.
