Job summary

Sweetwater Care in California is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing care within scope of practice, ensuring patient needs are met in accordance with standards and physician orders.

The role requires active use of Infection Control policies, participation in quality programs, and hands-on coordination with families, physicians, and care teams, including medication administration and charting with PointClickCare.

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN in California or a compact license for CA work.
• Minimum 1 year nursing management experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care settings.
• Experience with PointClickCare charting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and use of the Infection Control Manual.
• Participate in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Use the Quality Life Manual to identify, place, and monitor patients.
• Notify departments of patient changes (room changes, admissions, discharges).
• Educate patients and families.
• Administer medications timely according to facility policy.
• Administer treatments timely according to facility policy.
• Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders when allowed.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in state California, if contract is in the state of Califonia. Have a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred
