Job summary

160 Driving Academy in Clayton, NC, seeks a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspections to CDL exams, in the yard and on the road.

You will work with a team of instructors, cover at other regional yards when needed, and keep the yard clean and presentable. Expect a local, hands‑on schedule with growth opportunities and a clear career path toward leadership roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with required experience.
• Must meet state requirements for instructor licensing where applicable.
• MVR clean record and ability to pass DOT screen.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in yard and on-road settings.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections and maneuvers.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on first attempt.
• Track attendance and student progress; provide support as needed.
• Maintain training records and document incidents.
• Collaborate with Lead Instructor to ensure consistent curriculum.
• Keep yard tidy and assist with covering other regional yards when needed.
• Meet 90‑day probation and safety standards.
