Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspection through passing the CDL exam. The role is based at a yard, with learners in the yard and behind the wheel, and may involve covering other regional yards as needed.

You will work with a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor, ensuring safety, curriculum compliance, and consistent student experience. Expect a 90-day probation and regular performance-based opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Experience teaching CDL skills to students.
• Willingness to work day shifts and be based in a yard.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards with both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; maintain training records and documentation.
• Report incidents promptly to lead/instructor leadership.
