Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspection to CDL exam. You will work at a designated yard alongside other instructors and a Lead Instructor, with occasional coverage at regional yards.

The role emphasizes hands-on teaching, yard upkeep, and adherence to curriculum while keeping students safe and focused on outcomes. A strong mentoring approach and punctual attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL with minimum 24 months driving experience; state variations apply.
• MVR free of violations; DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening clearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards using both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving to CDL standards.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide additional support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
