Job summary

160 Driving Academy is the nation's largest CDL training school, offering local, hands-on instruction in Class A driving. You will teach students from pre-trip inspections to passing the CDL exam, working with a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor.

The role includes yard upkeep and occasional cross-yard coverage. We provide a clear career path from Yard Instructor to Lead Instructor and beyond, with compensation features like merit increases, profit-sharing bonuses, and regional relocation

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and coach students.
• Basic computer skills for tracking student progress and scheduling.
• Reliability with on-time attendance is essential.
• Experience mentoring or training drivers is valuable.
• Must meet state instructor licensing requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills through hands-on training in yards and on road.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and CDL testing prep.
• Track student attendance and progress; provide additional support as needed.
• Maintain training records and documentation; report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with other instructors to ensure a consistent student experience.
