Job summary

Silvi Materials is hiring Concrete Truck Drivers for our New Britain, PA operation. The role drives an 80,000 lb ready-mix truck, performing pre/post-trip inspections and ensuring safe, timely deliveries to customers.

Qualified candidates hold a CDL-A or CDL-B with a valid DOT Medical Card, pass a DOT physical and drug screen, and can handle a variable schedule starting between midnight and 9 a.m. One year of driving experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL-A or CDL-B and have a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Able to work a variable schedule; start times between 12:00 am and 9:00 am; daily call-ins at 4/5pm.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standard of quality and safety while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of concrete.
• Operate an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections per DOT guidelines; request needed repairs.
• Load and pour concrete using ladders, main chutes, and extension chutes; navigate areas with heavy pedestrian and equipment traffic.
• Maintain delivery, truck and driving records per company policies and regulations.
• Read delivery tickets and communicate with dispatch regarding deliveries.
• Wash residual concrete and materials off and out of the truck and barrel.

So what does a Silvi Materials Concrete Mixer driver do?

• Perform pre and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT guidelines; document and request required repairs as needed.
• Load and pour concrete according to procedures involving the use of ladders, main chutes, and extension chutes, as well as driving in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian and equipment traffic.
• Maintain delivery, truck and driving records in accordance with company policies, as well as federal and state regulations.
• Read delivery tickets and communicate with dispatch regarding all deliveries.
• Wash residual concrete and materials off and out of all areas of the truck and barrel.

Qualifications Required as a Silvi Materials Driver.

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license CDL-A or CDL-B and have a valid DOT Medical Card
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Able to work a variable schedule. Start times are anywhere between 12:00 am through 9:00 am. Requires calling in to the plant at 4/5pm daily.
• 1 year of preferred driving expereince

• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
