Job summary

PenFed Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist II for our Omaha, Nebraska Service Center. You will monitor and manage reconciliation processes for payoffs, payments, invoices, and ancillary products for consumer loans in line with internal policies.

The role requires a combination of education and experience, with five years of relevant experience and knowledge of payment processing, accounting principles, and financial regulations.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of consumer loan payment processing and loan servicing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Understanding of accounting principles, payment systems, and financial regulations.
• Experience with AI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Balance loan servicing general ledgers, including payoffs, payments, ancillary products, and invoices.
• Post payments and payoffs accurately and timely.
• Communicate via email, phone, fax, and mail with 3rd party partners, members, management, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor daily transaction reports and general ledgers for multiple processes; ensure timely posting and reconciliation.
• Document and record all transactions; address outages with urgency.
• Analyze and resolve differences between payments and ledger entries promptly.
• Keep leadership informed of accomplishments, problems, and issues in payment operations.
• Track and report payment-related variances to management.
• Review policies and procedures for efficiency improvements and cost containment.
• Coordinate timely reporting with accounting staff to reconcile policy transactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
