Job summary

Synergy Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Operations Assistant in Houma, LA to support the entire loan lifecycle. You will process and maintain consumer and commercial loans, board and modify loans, and ensure regulatory compliance with strong attention to accuracy.

The role involves escrow administration, collateral documentation, and reporting, with collaboration across lenders, credit personnel, and customers to uphold loan integrity and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, or related field.
• Experience in banking, loan operations, loan servicing, finance, accounting, or financial services preferred.
• Knowledge of loan documentation or regulatory compliance is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain consumer and commercial loan records throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Perform new loan boarding, renewals, extensions, modifications, and maintenance functions.
• Process loan payoffs, participations, non-post transactions, and loan-related adjustments.
• Verify loan accuracy through quality control reviews and account balancing procedures.
• Review loan transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Research and resolve loan servicing issues in a timely and accurate manner.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate electronic loan files and supporting documentation.
• Maintain escrow accounts for taxes and insurance; track insurance and collateral documents.
• Support credit bureau reporting and reconciliation; assist in audits and loan reviews.
• Provide professional, timely customer service for loan inquiries; support cross-department collaboration.
