Job summary

First Northern Bank invites an experienced professional to join the Loan Operations team as Assistant Manager, overseeing mortgage, consumer, and commercial loan processing, servicing, and reporting. You will lead staff development and drive process improvements while maintaining strong customer service standards.

Role emphasizes collaboration across departments, compliance with UDAAP, and ongoing workflow optimization in a full-time Sacramento-based position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Minimum of 8 years of loan operations experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Working knowledge of consumer, mortgage, commercial loan products and servicing
• Strong understanding of loan operations procedures, controls, and compliance requirements
• Experience with FIS, LaserPro, OnBase, and Abrigo preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising, coaching, and developing Loan Operations staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development activities
• Help establish and monitor workflows, service standards, and departmental procedures
• Coordinate and review loan servicing functions, including payment processing, payoffs, escrow administration, disbursements, and balancing
• Assist with loan boarding and verification processes to ensure accuracy and controls
• Provide guidance for specialized loan processes, including non-accrual loans, charge-offs, and OREO contrasts
• Support system updates, testing efforts, and implementation of process and software enhancements
• Promote a positive, service-oriented culture aligned with organizational values
• Perform daily operational duties and provide coverage as needed to support departmental objectives
