Job summary

Planters Bank & Trust Company is seeking a Loan Assistant to provide administrative, operational, and customer service support to the lending team. This role assists with loan origination, document preparation, file maintenance, and loan closing coordination.

You will monitor outstanding requirements, ensure files are accurate and compliant with regulations, and deliver exceptional service to customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years banking, lending, loan operations, or financial services experience preferred.
• Experience supporting commercial, consumer, or mortgage lending activities strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of loan documentation and banking procedures preferred.
• Critical thinking and using logic and reasoning to complete loan paperwork.
• Knowledge of lending processes and loan documentation preferred.
• Working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn and operate loan origination and core banking systems.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
