Job summary

Western seeks a Loan Operations Analyst to strengthen processes, systems, and controls behind lending operations. You will analyze workflows, support compliance reporting, and partner with multiple teams to drive efficiency and accuracy.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to implement practical solutions across the loan lifecycle in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• An associate degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field plus at least 3 years of related experience, or at least 5 years of directly related experience.
• Experience in loan operations, loan servicing, collateral perfection, lending support, compliance support, or financial services operations.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through.
• Ability to learn and work with banking systems, reporting tools, spreadsheets, workflow tools, and other technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Review loan operations processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and consistency.
• Support compliance-related activities and reporting, including HMDA, CRA, FHLB, and other assigned requirements.
• Create and improve procedures, job aids, checklists, and workflow documentation.
• Analyze reports, trends, processes, and operational issues to help identify practical solutions.
• Support audit and regulatory exam readiness, including documentation, issue tracking, and follow-up.
• Partner with Loan Operations, Compliance, Risk, Audit, lending teams, Business Systems, and other internal teams.
• Participate in system testing, process changes, implementation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Cross-train on critical Loan Servicing and Collateral Perfection functions to provide dependable backup coverage.
• Research operational questions and help internal partners navigate loan operations processes.
