Qualifications

• Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred.
• Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image.
• Knowledge of consumer loan policy and procedures, credit granting criteria, interest rates and calculations, loan products and services, credit bureau reports and scores.
• Aware of goals and able to prioritize work to achieve funding goals.
• Technologically Astute – must demonstrate ability to use technology to perform job functions.
• Requires judgment to apply broader aspects of established practices to situations beyond clear guidelines.
• 1–3 years of consumer lending and/or sales experience preferred; loan interviewing required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number to act as a home equity loan originator.
• Intermediate mathematical skills (decimals, percentages, fractions).

Responsibilities

• Interviews members to discuss financial position and assist in lending process.
• Cross-sell other credit union products and services when appropriate.
• Serve as trusted advisor by addressing member needs and concerns.
• Seek qualified opportunities to increase loan volume and product penetration.
• Meet or exceed sales goals by presenting solutions to fit member needs.
• Provide timely and accurate loan information and assist processors when needed.
• Prioritize work to achieve funding goals and maintain strong closing ratios.
