Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Loading, Shipping and Receiving Associate in Independence, MO. The role handles incoming and outgoing shipments and supports shipping operations to ensure products are delivered in good condition.

The position requires forklift operation, basic math including tape measure reading, and the ability to work both independently and with others in a distribution/manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Base pay rate starts at $19.00 per hour

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM

The Loading, Shipping and Receiving Associate position is an entry-level role that is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments. Loaders play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of shipping operations and ensuring that products are delivered and received in good condition.

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required.
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment
• Ability to safely operate a forklift
• Basic math skills, including ability to read a tape measure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environmentSome knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
