Job summary

Preferred Materials - Asphalt Division, part of CRH Southeast Division of Companies, seeks a Loader Operator for its Nokomis, FL asphalt plant. You will move and load materials with heavy equipment and support plant operations.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, coordinating with the Plant Manager, and maintaining records. Must have experience with heavy equipment and a valid driver's license; ability to work outdoors in varying weather is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of public works maintenance and/or construction experience, with one year operating heavy equipment.
• Must maintain a safe driving record and have a valid driver's license.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work in a team environment.
• Ability to perform manual labor and operate heavy equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials in a safe manner.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
• Assist Plant Manager in coordinating materials handling and equipment usage.
• Keep records and make oral or written reports.
• Make simple arithmetic computations.
• Sit for prolonged periods and climb, bend, stoop, and squat frequently.
