Job summary

Builders FirstSource is hiring a Load Builder to perform routine loading/unloading in the yard and on job sites. You will assemble load packages, ensure proper weight and balance, and prepare materials for delivery to customer sites.

The role requires following work orders, operating forklifts, and loading equipment with attention to safety. You will often lift and move heavy items and assist with training less experienced teammates as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks.
• Ability to count items and verify against lists.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secure with straps or padding.
• Build loads by weight and placement to balance for safe delivery.
• Read work orders or follow instructions to determine materials to move.
• Transport materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts or similar devices.
• Attach labels or tags to ensure correct item identification.
• Lift heavy objects safely and maintain a clean work area; assist operators.
