Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Field Engineer in Port Arthur, TX to provide project field engineering specialization, planning, material management, and quality control. You will ensure field activities are safe, complete, and conform to project requirements.

Responsibilities include supporting drawing preparation, planning methods, quantity takeoffs, ITP reviews, and coordination with subcontractors. A strong emphasis on safety and continuous learning is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, 9–12 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches and facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases and prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems.
• Ensures zero-accident philosophy and safety/quality requirements are implemented in the operational area.
• Proactively pursues continuous learning and professional development.
• Develops understanding of system turnover requirements for package development.
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans and coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
