Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Department Lead in Columbus, IN to ensure efficient department operations. You will oversee inventory, pricing, merchandising, and customer service while guiding teammates and maintaining standards.

You’ll participate in cross-training, uphold safety protocols, and support front-end tasks as needed. Flexibility for varied hours, including weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail experience in a department role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to convey instructions clearly.
• Ability to listen, ask relevant questions, and respond thoroughly.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and business needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to merchandising guides, maintain signing standards and displays.
• Monitor inventory, conduct stock counts, reconcile discrepancies, replenish stock.
• Oversee recovery to keep the department neat and visually appealing.
• Coordinate price changes with teams and update signage.
• Manage playbook features and planogram sets per guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation within the department.
• Provide proactive customer service and assist with inquiries.
• Support front-end loadouts and use office equipment as needed.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and related retail tools.
• Cross-train across departments for flexibility and participate in learning programs.
• Deliver friendly, professional support and uphold Rural King values.
