Job summary

Affordable Rent is seeking a Peer Specialist who uses lived experience with recovery to support clients, families, and teams, with a focus on strengths, empowerment, and advocacy.

You will mentor clients in recovery, coordinate with healthcare, housing, and behavioral health services, and document care in the EHR while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities include outreach, collaboration with staff, and ensuring timely services aligned with client goals in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with recovery, homelessness, or behavioral health.
• Accredited Peer Specialist training program preferred.
• Bilingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Colorado driver’s license required within 30 days of hire (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and support to clients using lived experience to build skills.
• Facilitate counseling and activities for clients in recovery from substance use disorders.
• Help clients coordinate healthcare, housing, and behavioral health services with internal teams.
• Transport clients to appointments using CCH vehicle or approved personal vehicle.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EHR and other systems.
• Engage in ongoing client outreach within the community.
