Job summary

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Peer Specialist to share lived experience in supporting clients facing homelessness, recovery, and related challenges. You will empower clients, collaborate with teams, and advocate for access to housing, health, and community resources.

Responsibilities include mentoring individuals, facilitating counseling, coordinating services, transporting clients to appointments, and maintaining precise records in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Peer Specialist training program highly preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
• Must have and maintain in good standing, a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire (with the exception of Ft. Lyon & Transitional Housing roles).

Responsibilities

• Mentor clients using lived experience to build goals and problem solving.
• Facilitate counseling and activities for clients in recovery.
• Help clients coordinate healthcare, housing, and behavioral health with internal teams.
• Transport clients to appointments using a CCH vehicle or approved personal vehicle.
• Collaborate with Coalition staff to foster trust and timely services.
• Conduct ongoing client outreach to monitor recovery needs.
• Record all services and communications in the EHR and other systems accurately.
