Job summary

Accord Mental Health LLC is seeking a Peer Specialist who uses lived experience to support clients and the treatment team. You will provide peer counseling, mentor clients, and help interpret client experiences for staff.

You will advocate for client rights and connect people to community resources while working under clinical supervision. The role emphasizes recovery, symptom management, and participation in assessment and planning.

Qualifications

• College degree in Human Services field or equivalent; high school diploma acceptable.
• Two years paid/volunteer work with adults with severe mental illness acceptable.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support to validate experiences and guide recovery.
• Serve as a mentor to promote hope and empowerment.
• Act as an interpreter for non-mental health team members to understand clients’ experiences.
• Provide consultation on symptoms, medications, and recovery from a consumer perspective.
• Collaborate to maximize client self-determination in treatment planning.
• Identify strategies to reduce stigma and support client rights and grievance processes.
• Coordinate WRAP plans with clients and treatment team; facilitate WRAP or peer groups weekly.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate client documentation.
