Job summary

The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking an Assistant Residential Life Coordinator – Student Leadership in University Housing. This full-time live-on position supports a comprehensive student development program for on-campus apartments and five residence halls housing about 5,500 students.

The role reports to the Assistant Director of Resident Education and includes responsibilities beyond standard hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; One year of experience with college students or adolescents in groups or educational settings.
Knowledge of student development theory and philosophy.

Responsibilities

Provide programmatic and student leadership opportunities through departmental programming and organizations including monthly annual program event targeting entire campus population.
Market and promote student leadership opportunities and organizations within Residential Life.
Serve as primary advisor of Residential Housing Association (RHA).
Oversee recruitment, training, and retention for four Community Councils.
Meet regularly with student leaders for ongoing personal, student, and leadership development.
Assist in the management of the Resident Education budget of approximately $100,000.
Lead planner for student leadership conference travel (up to four conferences per year).
Assist in the facilitation of large-scale programs during Opening Week, Weeks of Welcome, and Homecoming Week.
