Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks a dedicated couple to provide residential supervision and care for pre-K through 12th-grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The role involves mentoring, managing schedules, administering medications, and leading daily devotions. Both spouses must be 27+, with a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared for a nine-on/three-off duty cycle initially.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Flex Houseparents support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule.
• Transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students.
