Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking dedicated houseparents to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and oversight for student homes in Hershey, PA. This two-person couple role emphasizes a strong commitment to youth wellbeing, safety, and faith-based activities within a supportive campus environment.

Responsibilities include managing routines, medications, transportation to activities, and engaging in devotional life and Chapel services.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.
• Couple must complete individual employment applications.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities with students.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Flex Houseparents start by supporting various student homes on a nine days on / three off schedule, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role.
