Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks Flex Houseparents to provide daily supervision and mentorship, manage household routines, and accompany students on activities. The role includes driving responsibilities and leading daily devotions, with a careful approach to campus safety and discipline.

Two-person couples (married 2+ years) are required; both spouses must be 27+ and complete individual applications. Relocation/training support and time-off scheduling are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for legally married couples (two years).
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver's license; able to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model behavior.
• Both spouses must complete individual applications.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initial Flex Houseparents work nine days on, then three off.
• Transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same student group.
