Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking a dedicated two-person houseparent couple to provide a stable, caring living environment for pre-K–12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Hershey, PA. You will supervise, mentor and support student wellness, while managing daily routines and activities on a 9-on/3-off cycle.

Responsibilities include leading devotions, coordinating transportation, budgeting, and documenting household operations.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited).
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models for students.
• Commitment to student success from both spouses.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Flex Houseparents support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule, then transition to Placed Houseparent with the same group of students.
