Job summary

New York University Washington, DC campus seeks a Residential Life Coordinator to lead a team of Residential Life Administrators in managing programs and services for the on-site housing facility. The role coordinates room selection, staff oversight, and semester transitions, with a focus on developing a living-learning community.

This is a full-time, live-in position based in Washington, DC with after-hours/on-call duties.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.
3+ years experience in community development activities and programming, facilities operations, and staff supervision.
Experience working with new student programs and/or international students is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills; strong leadership and conflict resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

Supervise Residential Life Administrators and oversee their duties.
Provide crisis intervention and assess problems for resolution or referral.
Conduct investigations of violations and hold meetings with participants as needed.
Manage after-hours/weekend/holiday on-call duties on a rotational basis.
Advise students and collaborate with NYU Washington, DC staff to foster a living-learning community.
Develop and implement residential learning community programs and initiatives.
Handle room changes, staff coordination, and semester transitions as part of housing operations.
