Job summary

The Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy seeks a Residential Life Coordinator who lives in university housing to oversee day-to-day operations and community development in assigned residential areas. The role includes supervision of Student staff, crisis support, program development, and budget oversight.

Responsibilities include implementing educational initiatives, coordinating open hours and programs, addressing student behavior, and facilitating a safe, inclusive living

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s preferred
• Experience in residential life, student affairs, or related areas preferred
• Demonstrated ability to supervise students and lead teams
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to live within assigned housing 12 months and manage on-call shifts

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise student staff (Resident Assistants, Theme/SIP staff, Jumbassadors, Operations Assistants) and provide training
• Address student behavior, respond to crises, and participate in after-hours on-call rotations
• Develop and facilitate a robust community experience with programs and initiatives
• Oversee recruitment, scheduling, evaluation, and development of student staff
• Plan and implement programs, attend events, and engage with residents to foster connection
• Manage budgets and ensure spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained
• Conduct health and safety inspections and oversee opening/closing of housing areas
• Coordinate conflict mediation and restoration of relationships among students
