Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, hires married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes and care for groups of 8-13 students. Responsibilities include supervision, routines, medications, transportation, devotions, Chapel, budgeting, and reporting.

The schedule starts with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with transition to placed Houseparent.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions include fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Experience with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting

Skills
