Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. The role resides in on-campus student homes, caring for 8–13 students and fostering a structured, family-like environment.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, routines, medications, transporting students to activities, leading devotions, and budgeting. The nine-on/three-off schedule precedes a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
