Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live in on-campus student homes and supervise a group of 8–13 students, supporting their academic, emotional, and social development.

The position begins with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with a path to a placed houseparent role. Responsibilities include supervision, routine management, medication administration, transportation, devotional activities, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental and recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
