Job summary

SHELTER, Inc. in Concord, CA seeks a Live-In House Leader to support residents in a single-family home. This part-time role requires living on site in a bedroom and responds to residents' needs while enforcing house rules for a safe, supportive program.

You will collaborate with social workers and case managers, complete daily logs and incident reports, and help with move-ins/outs and expressions of care for adults experiencing homelessness or mental health challenges.

Qualifications

• 1+ years community based social services experience or related experience with homeless adults
• Candidates with lived experience of homelessness or mental health challenges encouraged to apply
• Ability to reside in a shared living environment and support individuals with mental health challenges
• Effective communication and administrative skills
• Knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Enforces house rules, policies, and safety protocols to maintain order and a positive living environment.
• Manage overnight concerns with residents and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Assist with moving furniture and housewares for move-ins/outs and deliveries.
• Conduct regular safety checks and notify agency of repairs.
• Interact professionally and de-escalate conflicts with residents.
• Collaborate with social workers and case managers to address resident issues.
• Complete daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and timely
