Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home seeks a 24/7 Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for elderly and disabled clients in Connecticut. Responsibilities include daily living support, meal prep, hygiene, and documentation of care plans.

The role emphasizes holistic, family-centered care and requires strong communication and observational skills. Candidates should reside in Connecticut, have a driver’s license and auto insurance preferred, and be prepared for one week on/one

Qualifications

• One year of prior personal care experience is preferred.
• Live-in experience is preferred.
• Drivers license and car with auto insurance are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care to clients.
• Assist with toileting, ambulation, and daily activities.
• Prepare meals meeting clients' nutritional needs.
• Report changes in clients' condition to nurse or supervisor.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties.
• Record client care on care plans and submit timely updates.
• Provide emotional support to clients and families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Participate in case conferences as requested.
• Attend required in-service education sessions.

Shift Detail: These cases would be one week on, one week off (Wednesday to Wednesday)

The 24/7 Live In Caregiver Position Provides

• Personal hygiene and grooming care to clients
• Assistance with toileting, ambulation, etc.
• Providing meals for clients' nutritional needs
• Reporting changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator
• Performing routine housekeeping and home management duties
• Recording each client's care on care plan and submitting care plan in a timely manner
• Assisting with providing emotional support for the clients and their families
• Assisting with routine therapy exercises
• Participating in case conferences as requested
• Attends all required in-service education sessions
• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education
• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service
• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to escape when appropriate.

Qualifications

Preferred Live In Caregivers have a driver's license and car with auto insurance

One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency, live in experience preferred

Two years of continuous work experience

Live In cases can be located anywhere in the state of Connecticut.
