Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care
• Assist with toileting and ambulation
• Prepare meals to meet nutritional needs
• Report changes in client condition to nurse or supervisor
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties
• Record care on the client care plan and submit timely
• Offer emotional support to clients and families
• Assist with therapy exercises as directed
• Participate in case conferences and required trainings
• Use computer software and smartphone for education
• Represent Hartford HealthCare with professional customer service

Shift Detail: These cases would be one week on, one week off (Wednesday to Wednesday)

The 24/7 Live In Caregiver Position Provides

• Personal hygiene and grooming care to clients


• Assistance with toileting, ambulation, etc.


• Providing meals for clients' nutritional needs


• Reporting changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator


• Performing routine housekeeping and home management duties


• Recording each client's care on care plan and submitting care plan in a timely manner


• Assisting with providing emotional support for the clients and their families


• Assisting with routine therapy exercises


• Participating in case conferences as requested


• Attends all required in-service education sessions


• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education


• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service


• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to escape when appropriate.

Qualifications

Preferred Live In Caregivers have a driver's license and car with auto insurance

One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency, live in experience preferred

Two years of continuous work experience

Live In cases can be located anywhere in the state of Connecticut.
