Job summary

Community Access in The Bronx, NY seeks a live-in Building Superintendent to oversee maintenance and building operations. The role covers plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and safety compliance, with an emphasis on timely repairs and code adherence.

Responsibilities include managing work orders in Yardi and Maintenance IQ, supervising staff, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with HPD, DOB, FDNY standards. This is a full-time position in a supportive housing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related trade experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be fingerprinted and cleared by NY State Justice Center.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry items up to 100 lbs.
• Certificates within 4 months: Fire Alarm Systems supervision, S-95; Citywide Fire Guard, F-01; Citywide Sprinkler Systems, S-12; Citywide Standpipe Systems, S-13.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and common areas.
• Review and prioritize maintenance requests by priority level.
• Coordinate with licensed vendors for specialized repairs and inspections.
• Maintain logs and ensure documentation is complete.
