You will inspect, repair, and coordinate vendor work to ensure a safe living environment for residents.

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Live-In Building Superintendent to oversee the daily maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and physical condition of a 34-unit supportive housing property in New York City. Building Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall physical condition of the supportive housing property. The Superintendent ensures that the building, apartments, common areas, mechanical systems, and grounds are properly maintained and that maintenance concerns are addressed promptly.
Monday-Friday (on call evenings and weekends) 9:00am-5:00pm
$31.25-$33.65
The Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining the building, responding to maintenance concerns, coordinating vendors and contractors, assisting with inspections, and ensuring residents have a safe, clean, and well‑maintained living environment. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, dependable, professional, and able to respond appropriately to building emergencies.
Because this is a live‑in position, the Superintendent must:
Able to lift 50lbs, stand for extended periods, walking distances, climbing stairs, operate required equipment power tools, mechanical equipment, etc., climb ladders, enter and exit tight spaces. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Lift and carry maintenance supplies and equipment. Safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment. Perform routine inspections throughout the property.
