Job summary

The City of Amarillo’s Civic Center Administration seeks a Venue Sales Manager to direct sales initiatives, market strategy, and staff. You will curate and book live events, negotiate contracts, and grow internal advertising revenue with lessees, promoters, and resident companies.

Responsibilities include building client relationships, negotiating talent and events, and ensuring successful event execution while driving revenue and brand alignment for the Civic Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Three years’ experience in managing sales; live entertainment industry preferred.
• At least two years in a supervisory position.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises permanent staff including a Marketing Administrator.
• Direct and train marketing team members in their duties.
• Provide quality customer service for lessees, patrons and guests.
• Assist with interviews and hiring process for designated positions as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with promoters, local contacts, booking agents and talent managers.
• Research, solicit, and negotiate ticketed, non-ticketed, and special events.
• Develop new market-specific events to provide returns including rental revenue and ancillaries.
• Identify low-usage periods and strategies to increase facility usage and revenue.
• Establish and analyze event revenue projections; provide quarterly sales reports.
• Collaborate with production, event services, and operations teams for seamless execution.
• Travel to industry conferences and meetings to generate new business.
• Prepare promoter guides, advertisements, and promotional materials.
• Research internal advertising opportunities to boost ad revenue.
• Stay informed about industry trends and competitors to guide booking decisions.
• Assist event staff with venue tours for potential clients; answer questions.
