Job summary

The New Museum seeks a Senior Production Manager to lead technical production for public programs and internal events across venues, including the Theater and Sky Room. You will plan, schedule, and oversee AV staff, coordinate with departments, and ensure smooth execution of artist talks, screenings, conferences, and performances.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years' experience in live event production, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and video editing

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience organizing technical production for music, performance, conferences, and screenings.
• Ability to manage staff and crews; strong oral and written communication skills; highly organized.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute technical production for all public programs and events.
• Schedule and run production meetings across departments.
• Supervise and hire contract AV staff and manage budget.
• Coordinate Theater and spaces use for events and meetings.
• Maintain inventory and upgrades of equipment; arrange repairs.
• Organize rentals and AV for public programs and performances.
• Support audiovisual and conferencing systems in meeting spaces with IT.
• Communicate production operations weekly to Operations team.
• Perform basic editing and export video for online access.
• Coordinate AV for rental events with vendors and staff.
• Attend department meetings.
